Which stone sealer do I need?

Penetrating vs topical sealers

Penetrating sealers sit inside the pores, so nothing peels and the stone keeps breathing, which matters in Canadian freeze-thaw. Topical or film-forming sealers (such as the Trident urethanes) add gloss and are better suited to pavers and concrete than to polished stone.

How often should granite be sealed?

Use the water-drop test: if drops soak in and darken the stone, clean and reseal. Stain-Proof penetrating sealers are designed for long-lasting repellency.

Does an impregnating sealer change colour?

Standard impregnating sealers are invisible. Choose a colour enhancing sealer for a richer tone.

Can I seal stone in winter?

Indoor stone can be sealed year round. For exterior stone, the surface must be clean and dry; follow the label for temperature limits.
