How To Strip Old Failed Sealer and Polymeric Joint Sand Haze
Trident Tidal Wave X biodegradable gel stripper is a powerful solution for removing old failed acrylic and urethane sealers
It is the first step when failed, white or peeling sealer (often with trapped polymeric sand haze) needs to come off pavers and concrete. Trident Tidal Wave X is a ready-to-use, natural and biodegradable sprayable gel that removes acrylic, acrylic latex, polyurethane and other resin sealers, plus latex and oil-based paint spots. Not for asphalt.
Step 1: Prepare the Surface
Before applying Tidal Wave X, make sure the surface is clean and free of any debris. Sweep or hose off the area to ensure the stripper can work effectively.
Step 2: Apply the Stripper
Pre-test a small area, then spray Tidal Wave X evenly over the surface you want to strip. It is ready to use with no dilution. Plan on 100-300 sq ft per gallon per application; heavy or multi-coat sealer may need more than one application.
Step 3: Let it Sit
Allow the gel to dwell on the surface for the time on the product label (it clings for efficient dwell). This gives it the chance to penetrate and break down the old sealers and haze effectively.
Step 4: Scrub and Rinse
After the waiting period, scrub the surface with a brush or floor maintainer with a red or black stripping pad. Pressure wash thoroughly with a turbo nozzle or a stripping surface cleaner such as the HiLow Stripinator to remove the loosened sealers and haze. Repeat where needed, allowing the surface to dry between applications. Rinse the area thoroughly to reveal a clean, refreshed surface.
Step 5: Enjoy the Results
Once the surface is dry, you'll see the difference Tidal Wave X has made. Your pavers and concrete will look like new, ready to be enjoyed once again. The surface is now ready to be properly sealed for long term protection with Stain-Proof or Trident Urethane sealers.
Clean with EffBOMB and let the surface dry fully before resealing. Shop Trident Tidal Wave X - ships across Canada from British Columbia. Do not let stripper enter drains, sewers or waterways.
