Can Concrete Sealer Be Tinted?

Absolutely, Using the Right Sealer for the Job

Using a common old style acrylic sealer, the answer is no, and impregnating sealers are an absolutely not, but Trident CAT 5 urethane sealer for concrete is DESIGNED to be integrally tinted, and we'll teach you how.

What is Different About Trident Sealers Making it Tintable?

The waterbased nature of Trident Hurricane sealers make it extremely easy to disperse water based emulsion tints into the sealer. There is an easy add and mix solution for getting a translucent tint in a wide range of colours. We recommend adding H&C WaterBased Emulsions Translucent Tint from Sherwin Williams across Canada.

Can Other Sealers Be Tinted With H&C Tint?

While we are sure there are some others on the market, most solvent based acrylics do not tint easily, this is because those sealers are not emulsified they are actually dissolved In the solvents. While there are other water based emulsions on the market in Canada, there is only one 2 part urethane sealer in Canada and that is Trident Hurricane CAT 5. Urethanes accept colour and tint more easily, as well as how clear they remain over time keeping the tint as translucent as possible for a more natural result.

How Much Tint do I Need?

On average you will need 2 kits of H&C WaterBased tint per full kit of Trident Hurricane CAT 5 in D2 Semi Gloss dilution.
